El Ducado de Gandia, otorgado a los Borja, convirtió la ciudad en un centro de poder y cultura renacentista. En los siglos posteriores, Gandia continuó creciendo, consolidándose como un importante centro agrícola, comercial e industrial en la región de la Safor.
La gastronomía de Gandia refleja su rica herencia cultural y proximidad al mar, destacando platos como la fideuà, el arroz al horno, y el all i pebre de anguila. En postres, sobresalen la coca de llanda y los dulces de almendra. Gandia celebra numerosas fiestas, como las Fallas en marzo; la Semana Santa; la Noche de San Juan en junio; y la Feria y Fiestas de Gandia en octubre.
